Four tackles in draw
Castagne had three crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Monday's 1-1 draw versus Egypt. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 14th minute.
Analysis: Castagne worked tirelessly as Belgium's left-back in Monday's 1-1 draw with Egypt, delivering three crosses (one accurate) and winning four tackles in what was one of his more defensively active individual performances, though his yellow card for serious foul play in the first half complicated his ability to engage as aggressively in duels during the remainder of the match. The Fulham full-back was committed and physical throughout his 56 minutes and was one of the few Belgian outfield players to contribute consistently in both defensive and attacking phases, but his side's collective inability to convert their 15 shots into more than one goal left him on the wrong side of a result that puts pressure on Belgium's campaign heading into the Iran fixture. His delivery from the left side and ability to support Jeremy Doku's runs infield remain important attacking weapons that Belgium will look to exploit more effectively in their next group game.
Four tackles in draw
Castagne recorded one shot (zero on goal), four crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton.
Analysis: Castagne played a direct creative role in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Molineux, delivering an inviting cross to the back post in the first half that found Alex Iwobi unmarked, with only Jose Sa's sharp volley save preventing an early Fulham lead before Wolves responded minutes later, while also adding two key passes, four crosses and four tackles. The Belgian right-back also fired high and wide from inside the box when well positioned in the first half, missing what would have been another big chance for his side in a frustrating afternoon overall. Castagne has not recorded a goal contribution this season, but he remains a reliable defensive presence in Fulham's back line.
Two interceptions in clean sheet
Castagne recorded one tackle (one won) and two interceptions in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Brentford.
Analysis: Castagne made his third consecutive start with Kenny Tete (foot) still sidelined and has made a strong case for his place over that run, contributing meaningfully at both ends of the pitch. Offensively, he registered two shots, created six chances and delivered seven crosses while defensively he accumulated three interceptions, seven clearances, four blocks and six tackles, recording at least one tackle and one block in each of those three games.
Assists in cup
Castagne got the start and provided an assist during Tuesday's 1-0 win over Cambridge United.
Analysis: Castagne made his third start of the season in the Carabao Cup, and added an assist. He's gone unused in each of the last two Premier League matches, but Castagne still has upside when he plays. He has filled in both at right-back and in an attacking midfield role.
