O'Shea ended the season having been one of Ipswich's most consistent and commanding defensive presences, captaining the side throughout what has been one of the most successful campaigns in the club's history as they finished second in the Championship with 84 points.

Analysis: O'Shea contributed one goal, one assist, 25 tackles and a career high 292 clearances in 46 Championship appearances, bringing leadership, aerial dominance and the experience of having played at the highest levels of English and European football to a defensive unit that conceded very few goals during the promotion season. O'Shea heads into the Premier League as the defensive captain and the player coach McKenna will rely on to organise and inspire the back line in the top flight.
